Plan and run an audit engagement
From a universe row, start an engagement and complete the Plan Engagement form. Then open the engagement, work the Overview, Planning, Assets, Risks, Artefacts, Tests, and Report tabs, and submit it for approval.

Start an engagement from a universe entry, plan its scope and team, then work the engagement tabs.
Step-by-step
- 1 Open 'Audit' then 'Universe'. On a universe row, open the actions menu and select 'Start Engagement'.
- 2 In the 'Plan Engagement' form, select the 'Audit Type' and enter the engagement 'Title'.
- 3 Set the start and end dates, select the 'Entities to Audit' from the universe, and select the 'Audit Leads'. Use 'Expand details' to add the objective and scope. Use 'Add Another Engagement' to plan more than one.
- 4 Click 'Submit'. You are taken to the engagement at /audit/engagement/{id}, with the phase bar showing Planning, Fieldwork, Review, Reporting, Follow-up.
- 5 On the 'Overview' tab, review the risk matrix, planned versus actual hours, compliance status, scope, controls, and field auditors.
- 6 On the 'Planning' tab, set the budget and man-hours and assign personnel. On 'Assets', review the entities and apply controls. On 'Risks', review the risk distribution. On 'Artefacts', review the control evidence.
- 7 Work the 'Tests' tab to execute the fieldwork, then use the 'Report' tab to generate the documents.
- 8 When the plan is ready, click 'Submit for Approval' in the top right.
