Build your audit universe
Create a universe through the wizard: set the model and name, add entities with criticality and inherent risk, configure risk-factor weights and the audit cycle, then map regulatory requirements.

Define auditable entities, risk-based prioritization, and regulatory mapping for audit planning.
Step-by-step
- 1 In the left sidebar, open 'Audit' and click 'Universe' (this opens /audit/center?t=universe).
- 2 Click 'New Universe' to open the wizard drawer titled 'Audit Universe Scope'.
- 3 Scope step: choose a 'Universe Model' card and enter a 'Universe Name' (for example FY2026 Enterprise Audit Universe). Click 'Continue'.
- 4 Auditable Entities step: use the entity-type tabs (Business Units, Processes, Functions, Systems), click 'Add custom entity' to add a type, then 'Add {type}' to add a row. For each entity set 'Asset', 'Criticality', and 'Inherent Risk'. Click 'Continue'.
- 5 Risk step: set the 'Risk Factor Weights' so the total reads 100%, choose a 'Default Audit Cycle', and optionally enable 'Event-Driven Escalation' with its triggers and cooldown. Set 'Materiality Threshold' and 'Minimum Coverage Target' if needed. Click 'Continue'.
- 6 Regulatory and Compliance Mapping step: import controls from your compliance program to map coverage, then add 'Regulatory Requirements' rows with a name, authority, and frequency. Click 'Continue'.
- 7 Work the remaining Governance and Review steps, then save. The universe appears in the universe list.
