Apply controls and run tests
From the Assets tab use Apply Control to import controls, then Create Test to define a test through Details, Create Plan, Preview, and Review. Record the result with the design sufficiency check and a Passed, Exception, or Partially outcome.

Add the controls under audit, create tests against them, and record the test results.
Step-by-step
- 1 Open the engagement while its status is Planned and you are one of its leads.
- 2 On the 'Assets' tab (the 'Assets / Entities' list, with the entities inherited from the universe), use 'Apply Control' on an entity to open the 'Controls' drawer. Pick a framework, select the controls, and click 'Import Controls'.
- 3 Click 'Create Test' in the top right to open the test form.
- 4 Enter the test details: choose the 'Control', enter the 'Title' and 'Objective', and set the 'Systems', 'Sample Size', 'Procedures', and 'Assets / Entities'.
- 5 Set the plan: choose the 'Planned Date' and 'Planned Hours', select the auditors, and set the status. Preview, then create the test.
- 6 Open the 'Tests' tab, find the test, and use its menu to record its result.
- 7 When recording the result, complete the design sufficiency check, set the passed sample size, choose the test outcome, upload evidence, add a comment, then submit the result.
- 8 If the test fails, raise a finding from the test's 'Findings' action (see 'Record a finding and action plan').
