Do internal control over your entities
Define your auditable entities in the universe, run an Internal Control Audit engagement scoped to them, apply the controls, test design and operating effectiveness, and drive findings to closure.

Test the internal controls across your auditable entities through an internal control audit.
Step-by-step
- 1 In 'Audit' then 'Universe', define your auditable entities (Business Units, Processes, Functions, Systems) with their criticality and inherent risk.
- 2 On a universe entry, open the actions menu and select 'Start Engagement', and set the 'Audit Type' to 'Internal Control Audit'.
- 3 Under 'Entities to Audit', select the entities from the universe (their linked assets are inherited), add the audit leads, then save.
- 4 Open the engagement's 'Assets / Entities' tab, where each selected entity is a row with its applied-controls count.
- 5 Use 'Apply Control' on an entity to bring in the internal controls to test for it.
- 6 Click 'Create Test' and record results, completing the design sufficiency check for each control on each entity.
- 7 Raise findings for control failures and track their corrective action plans to closure.
- 8 Generate the report from the engagement's 'Report' tab, and review control effectiveness in 'Audit' then 'Assurance'.
